Welcome to Birkswyld!

Please review the following guidelines to ensure a pleasant experience. 

Check-in

• Access: Keypad pin is shared with guests the day before arrival. 

• Wi-Fi Name: Birkswyld (password will be inside the cottage)

House Rules

• Noise:  Guests are requested to keep low noise level between 10pm to 8am. 

• Smoking: Birkswyld is a smoking free property. Smoking , vaping not allowed inside and around 15 feet of the house on all sides. 

• Parties: Large gathering more than 6 guests and parties are not permissible at cottage premises. 

• Guests should stay within the property boundary and respect the privacy of neighbors. 

• Use of fireworks while residing at the Birkswyld is prohibited. 

• Wood fireplace inside the house is NOT for use. 

• Guests are NOT allowed to go to the attic, and the deck on top of pump house. 

Safety and Security

• Emergency Contacts: Send message using the airbnb app or Cottages in Canada email. 

• Safety Instructions. Electric breaker box should always remain closed. 

•.      For any electricity, HVAC, water issues reach out using airbnb app. 

• Security cameras are installed on two entrances. 

• Lake access: Guests should exercise caution specially with kids when using the shoreline. 

• Please make sure to wear life jacket when getting into the water. Guests can use the ladder in the boat nook for accessing water on the shoreline. Water level starts at ankle/knee depth near the ladder and then drops to 2-3 feet at the edge of boar nook towards lake. In addition from the floating dock guests can access water. Depth of water at the floating dock is 9 feet. 

• Fire Pit: Please refer to fire pit safety document and Muskoka fire advisory. 

Cleanliness and Maintenance

• Trash:  All garbage and compost MUST be taken off-site to the dedicated garbage drop-off point (addresses provided in check-out instructions).

• Damage Reporting: Any damage to property and amenities should be reported with picture and brief description. 

• Cleaning Expectations: Birkswyld is our family cottage. We expect the premises inside and outside should remain in the same condition as found during arrival. 

Amenities and Utilities

• Appliances: Dishwasher and washing machine should not be operated simultaneously. 

• Barbecue machine should be shut off , cleaned and overed with the black cover when not in use. 

• Please put barbecue machine cover on top of the glass table . 

Local Regulations and Compliance

• Parking: 4 cars are allowed in the driveway of the property. 

Departure Instructions

• Check-Out Procedure: All doors and windows should be closed before leaving the cottage. The two exit doors should be locked during departure by pressing the # sign on keypads.
